Volunteers welcome!

We currently have around 15 regular volunteers who help out on the farm. As a “thank you”, we offer them some veg to take home. This works well for people wanting a regular commitment – on a weekly or fortnightly basis. We like folk to do a full morning or afternoon’s work so that you can get stuck into the tasks.

Seasonal Trainees

We include enthusiastic and dedicated seasonal trainees to continue the running and development of our CSA veg project in Barton St David, Somerset. This year we are offering 12 week placements on a rolling basis throughout the season; dates will be negotiated to meet the needs of trainees and the farm, with start dates between 1st April and 1st September.  The work is physically demanding but rewarding, and will provide a valuable experience for people interested in becoming involved with CSA/ community growing enterprises.

Contact us to find out when the next placements are available and feel free to arrange an informal visit to the farm for a chat and a tour. To apply, check the details, trainee qualities we’re looking for and farm information then email info@plotgatecommunityfarm.org to tell us about yourself and why you could be one of our trainees, as well as providing email and phone contact details of two referees.  We will invite potential trainees to volunteer with us for part of a day as soon as possible and to take part in an interview, aiming to ensure that a Plotgate trainee placement will work well for you and the farm.
